The "original" intercooler is an addition - the LPT cars did not have an intercooler. It is a good addition. I'd also consider putting the open air filter back into the "bucket" - it will help a little to keep warm air from going into the system.

Yeah, nice one Cool
It's a motley arrangement of badges on the rear - debadge, maybe?

For the amount of money it was - i thought it was quite good, but there always are some negtives...

The seller wrote:
This car has been fitted with a larger turbo and fitted with dual intercoolers that can be operated separetly fron a button on the dashboard

Indeed, there is a big red button ( Razz ) in the dash, but i haven't really explored the car yet...

Unfortunatley, the whaletail has sagged a bit - i don't know how Question

Yes, the badges need sorting so that will keep me busy for a while... Very Happy

All good fun Smile

Intriguing! There simply isn't two intercoolers in there. I'm not sure what the point would be anyway. I wonder what the red button connects to - there may be a solenoid on the wastegate to raise boost. I don't see an APC system in there, so go careful.

I'm guessing the dump valve is standard and in the last picture I can't see anything that might indicate a two stage wastegate. I really want to know what the button attaches to ... it might just be a button Laughing

Well here goes:

Here is the big red button Razz :

So i got the tools out:

Removed it:

Two brown wires hey? So i traced them...

...behind the astray. Then i couldn't see where they went. Next, i noticed this switch:

When turned on, it switched this fan on:

Hang on a minute - i thought Surprised - why is the cigarette lighter there. Took out the rocker switch that controls the fan and hey presto ... there's two brown wires:

I pulled on the two on the red switch and you can see that they are the same. I first thought that it is probably where it is getting a feed from but there are no other wires coming off it - just a big red button leading to the a cigarette lighter. So here is some more pics of under engine but i am now sure there isn't another inter cooler:
