Just turning into the driveway of my house when a complete idiot in a vw transporter van came screaming into the back on me. The skid marks were 38 foot long and he pushed me in the carlsson a good 45 foot up the road. He must have been going about 45mph - in a 30 limit!!!

Rather annoying as only just had all of the paintwork done on the carlsson and looked brilliant. The carlsson is in a bad way as the van had demolished the rear wing, smashed the gear selection so now stuck in first, boot wont shut - it is in a bad way. Got quite bad whiplash and went to A&E to get checked out and not too bad - just hurts a bit Wink

Rather annoting as was hoping to go to the saab owners club national rally at stratford in it Rolling Eyes

GREAT NEWS

The Carlsson will be saved!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Spoke to the inspector today and the carlsson is a cat C! It was going to be a cat B, but i pleaded with him, explained the rarity of the car and he couldnt actully find another for sale to compare price!

He basically said that "the impact has broken its back" and his estimate was £5,688 for its repairs.

I will most probably do a full picture restoration of the rebuilt and of course...post them on here for you guys!

Anyway, time to get fixing Very Happy

Hmmm ... "broken it's back"? I would be very VERY wary about rebuilding a car that has such potential structural damage. Get the opinion of a local SAAB specialist. In the end, a shell is a shell - move the engine and interior and you've got "the car" back.

Yes, it does have a lovely sound. In the video, as there is no gearstick we had to use a screwdriver to engage a gear. This was difficult and we ended up selecting third Smile

Ouch! Both sides. If it's any consolation, here's the story of my white SAAB:
