hi everyone, i'm crispy from southam england, just getting my saab on the road, its a little bit tatty but goes well, its a 89 900 conv. 16v turbo auto, i've altered it a little with some old tuning bits i was given, when the gearbox goes i'll be changing it to a manuel box, does anyone know how to retrieve the blink codes? i've done it before but can't remember which conector in the socket to put to earth, and the procedure from there, have a nice day to you all!

Hi Crispy - Welcome to the forum.

To answer your question, on our Lucas T16 there is a yellow wire that can be found near the cabin air intake in the engine bay. What you do is ground the wire, switch the ignition on until the CEL blinks, then disconnect the wire from ground. The first fault code reveals itself ...
There's a download here: http://www.saabcentral.com/assets/downloads/lucascu14.zip but yours being a 1989 is it Bosch powered? The procedure will no doubt be much the same.

thanks for that one, found a page on saabnet.com about the LH jetronic system, its got it all there inc. fault codes! since tuning me saab up, thinking of fitting a larger oil cooler for the auto box, its quite alot of fun to drive now , tried the red apc box but found it to be more fun with my home modified black apc box, just got to get her MOT'd now, and fix a leaky roof, have fun
