A lot of small things has happened on the prototype, its now in full operation and runs like mad. During Saabdays in Trollhättan I found a new centreconsolle and a few other things, so now all is nice again.

Ofcourse a nice yellow coupe has found its way into the dash. A feature now fitted on all cars! The yellow coupe is limited to 300 pcs from German Modelcarworld. It raises interesting questions about the be or not be of these cars in Germany? Did they exist or not? At least the model exists, and also at least one real in Sweden.

New floor in the boot and new rubber etc fitted. Rats had eaten away the old rubber!

New spoiler fitted! The Swedish "big wing" is present, but needs refurbishing, will be a long time restoration project.

And some more work required here, but parts are already available.

The Yellow pearl.

As this is being written, some of you guys here are in Holland for the Saabevent. Im ashamed Im not there, but it turned out to be a little too far, too expensive to make it. As a poor excuse to myself, I gathered all 3 C900s on a grasfield close by and shot this:

The gathering of TurboS x3:

The two Coups:

And this yyears holiday went up north, the old 9-5 had to work hard in the norther territories. Coming from this Gravelroad on about 1000 meters altitude the exhuast-system came loose in the back. Rolling Eyes

A bonus pic. Last day of the Saabevent in Trollhättan, outside the Museum. The man to the right is none other than Mr Peter Bäckström himself, manager of the Saabmuseum. He strolled out just as I parked to shoot a pic on the yellow prototype in front of hte entrance to the Saabmuseum. He gave is liking, and me and some other Saab-guys had a very nice conversation with him on C900, history and other things. Very nice!

Wow! That's a cool story Cool

I'd love to visit Trollhattan again - for me, it was the hundred plus Classic 900s I saw while enjoying a Guinness in the hotel bar while waiting for my wife to put her face on, or fix her hair or whatever she was doing. The museum was a lot of fun - they've changed the layout since we were there, so another visit would be as much fun, I'm sure.

Ok, long time no update! Since last time Im the father of "Carl". He turned up last Monday weighing a whooping 5140 grams, a true Swedish Viking. Its nice, but will kill my Saab-time for a long time to come.... Did manage to put som serious time in on the Yellow coupe anyway, and its right now waiting to be mounted back again. Engine is in parts, Interior is removed.

The front. No heavy corrossion at all, just a little surface here and there. It will stay like this for now.

The Front piece around the radiator, now fresh black and non-standard 1990 Yellow painted towing-eyes. I like it that way. You can tell the nice C900s from the worn ones on how fresh the towing-eyes are in Sweden.

New front lights will be fitted, and these - US sidelights, there is a Reflector on the sides. Not fitted on any Swedish cars. But this is a US prototype, and had them from Start it seems.

The covers for the air-outlets back are painted now. My local paintshop read the paint for me and I can now order it as "Saab199" as the formula is stored with them, nice!

Continuing:

A view on the batteryplate, now nicely painted.

Some oil and water pipes are now painted, looking much better!

The engine will get a 2,1 LIter cylinder-top, with matching 2,1 airinlet manifold. About 30% better flow is said to be the result, and the parts are standard for any swedish C900 tuner. The top has done only 140.000 kms and looks very nice! Pics will come...

Also got hold of this ramp for hte rear-hatch. Rare! Not new, but very good. This saves the job of fixing the black part on the rear-hatch, its not 100%. The ramp will simply cover it!

I have bought a "Simons/Ray" complete exhaust system for a non-cat Turbocar. The long silencer in the front will be replace with a special made pipe, that includes a high-flow cat, 200 Cells. Seen here:

In the back will be the "Shotgun" pipes!

More updates will follow, but time is limited now, and since Im working outside nothing much will happen. Until April or so....

Todays bonus-pic is a flower. The Tulip that is named "MonteCarlo" and gave name to the Colour with the same name on some Saabs! Razz

Continuing the updates before any comments, heres the motorparts:

Cylinderhead, from the 2,1 liter, and new exhaust manifold.

Ive used all the holes for mounting, dont know why really, but they were there, so why not?

Downpipe from Simons/Ray, with heat-bandage, 2,5".

Inlet manifold, glas-blasted, with all the trims from a 2,1 liter. Note the connection for Fuel-pressure regulator with different fitting than on the T16.

The front seat had some stitches that were broken, now remedied! And the seat just looks great, like new!

After leathercleaner I greased them with some German stuff containing Bee-wax. Smells like Honey kind of, rather nice. Picked it up on a market here in Sweden, on the "Western plain" not far from Trollhättan.

In my thoughts, Im still amazed that I got hold of this very yellow car, and the condition was so good, like with these chairs. Ive seen so many C900s in Sweden with very poor leather, but I found the dream-car and the leather is like new. Whats the odds for that? Razz

Some difference for the better:

I've also got that "solution"

I just hope that you also got the 2.1l holder for the Fuel-pressure regulator:

turns out to be a "minor" difference but it wan't fit nicely without..... Rolling Eyes

Yes, got it! Snatched all from a 2,1 liter in a local scrapyard - got very lucky just when I needed it. Razz
