Well, the guys on the Swedish forums all agree with you - keep the 16"! Ok, they will stay on for now. I will mount the 15" later on to test how it feels. I also have the original 15" Aero1991 alloys, will fit them with tyres and test that too. Thinking they will go on the red one maybe? Razz

What Im really looking for are the Aero91 alloys with Grey center, as is common in Holland, Germany etc. The black one on top of this forum-page (Im looking at it as I wright this) have hem. They are virtually impossible to find here, as almost no cars were sold with them here, but Im looking!!! Those wheels will for sure go on the Red car if I find them.

Well, now spring is finally coming and this weekend I will spend 48hrs behind the wheel in the MonteCarlo. Razz

Fitted the Ski-rack I managed to get hold of:

Thinking of a new turbo as well, What do you think of the Turbine in the background, big enough?

Picture is taken in Trollhättan, they are renovating the powerplant and the Turbine is from one of the lines of the plants. The "Göta River" is flowing through Trollhättan and the fall is about 30 meters I think. The ships are going through locks, and fairly central they have 2 powerplants. Will post more pics later this spring with nice industrial environments around the town, with the MonteCarlo as main attraction. Razz

You do lose all sense of scale when something like that is on a ship - put it next to a car and you can really appreciate the engineering. Good picture ... I'm looking forward to seeing some more.

Cool ski rack, too Cool
There is something quite right about ski racks on convertibles.

Back to original is the thing of the day. Ive put the 1991 Aero-alloys on the MonteCarlo. I think it looks awesome!!! Will keep em on for now. The car drives better, more silent and I actually think the cars look better with the wheels further in, as is the case compared to 16" Aeros which are simply too wide for the car. I was a bit worried about the condition of the alloys, but it prooved ok. They are not new, but apart from a few small scratches they work fine.

Further a nice edition was the "Neo" model of the car. Finally someone produces models of cars I have!!! Rumors also say a 1992 T16S in red is coming soon. Razz Bought two models actually, one will be in the car and one in my office I think.

Nothing much is going on really at home, no big projects at all, enjoying spring and driving a lot only. This weekend, the three c900s were all gathered! The 4th red one is a friends, we fitted APC system in the "S" model this weekend, fun!

My white T16 Conv 1990 is back in operation as well, Im driving it in "non super" conditions to save the MonteCarlo som mileage...

Also got me a 3d Nardi in this car over the weekend. Silly really, suddenly I have no c900 with original steering wheel, but the Nardi is really nice to handle.

Funny with Cats, they do like Saabs:

Also got me the "Turbo" insignia from the 9000, they are smaller than those from c900. Im thinking to remove the 1992 original "Saab" from the side of the hood, and fit these instead. A homage to the older cars on the rather late 1992 TurboS. First pic to show the size difference only.

THe old 9-5Aero has got some attention too. It now features 3" and 2,5" fullflow exhaust and sounds just right. 17" DotzRadium are fitted, very nice and suits the Steelgray. But the car needs som more attention, its not very well taken care of by prev owner, lots of scratches, corrossion etc... Yes, the quality is not 100% Im afraid. If driven on the west-coast for 4 years without proper attention, the 9-5 is no good....

Possibly the White one is up for sales. Too much with 2 convertibles really. On the other hand, its a classic! There are only 2 white 1990 T16 Conv in all Sweden... This one is in really good condtion with only 130k kms on the meter. Thinking another T16S would be nice instead, plus its so damned fun to be on hte market looking for something. Like Scooter says, "The chase is better than the catch". I wish it wasnt so, but Im like that. I have to rid one of my beauties just to be able to get another one... But Im not there yet. Also considering larger IC, more tuning, 3" etc.... Confused

Next update will be - no clue? I have nothing to do really, I have postponed the fixing of wheel-houses for the MonteCarlo, just want to keep it running for now....

I managed to get a brand new Turbo emblem for the Classic 900 recently. I was really pleased. The plastic ones from the later cars are okay, but if left out in the weather will dull quickly.

Being a polishing fanatic, I like the debadged look for practicality sake - I have a full set of badges and some diagrams for placement if I end up selling the car on.

Got som work done today, cleaned up the engine bay a little. fitted a new IC, replaced the cooling liquid container with a new one etc. Looks a bit nicer now....

Results:

Fitted new rear-exhaust and muffler. The latter was gone on the inside, but was looking good on the outside.

Crosspoke 16" brand new fitted as well, looking rather nice.

Waxed them up to help maintenance, they will be tricky to keep nice Im afraid.

A bonus pic from the swedish forums, will post it here too. This is how the SAS airlines looked back in the good old days of the Saab 900! For me its the way they looked when going on holiday with the folks so its a bit nostalgic. The plane is a new AIrbus retropainted to look 1980s something, shot in Gothenburg Airport this monday going to Spain.

So Ive gotten med a new set of alloys again, the rare Gray 1992 Aeros! Not new, but in very good cond. All 4 had som small marks on the outer edge, probably from previous tyres/weights. Ive polished it a little bit and it looks very ok from one meter away. Plan to fit them on the Red 1992 shortly, look out for updates.

Meanwhile the MonteCarlo is back on its original set.

Kinda of liked this pic, the "Saab Turbo Club" logo shines very nicely into the 9-5 at certain angles. Hit the brakes and shot a pic!

Today is exiting. Im going to visit the guy with Swedens only original Yellow T16S! Im gonna give him an offer maybe. Or a trade, my red for the Yellow? Razz In the background is also a Black 1985 Aero with a whooping 70.000 kms on the meter, in very very nice condition, beige interior, but not leather. We will see what becomes of it, but in a few weeks time I estimate to own a 3d Saab C900 again! Its a bit empty with only two actually.... Razz

Ok, I got the car as you can see in the Sandbox area. Its Swedens only Yellow T16S Aero Coupe! Its 1990, a prototype with colour 199, prototype colour. Tricky to get new pain. Here its seen on the market-place in Lidköping, West Sweden, by the "Vänern" lake, one of the biggest in Europe.

At home, full work ongoing.

So somebody painted the chrome black? I wonder why?

A few detail pics. There is virtually NO corrossion worth mentioning in the chassis. Amazing! Only the paintjob needs some attention, its not great.

Red box and surprisingly nice and clean!

NIce interior, only a bit of sewing required and cleaning up.

Doorsides with leather, an upgrade from a 1991.

New rear bumber, and a new sport-system, "Simons". I have an original too, but why expose it to wear when new sport-systems are still readily availble from the shelf in Sweden? They will not be for a lot more time...

The rearwing was disasembled today. Underneith was only a bit dirty, but NO corrossion. Nice.

Found some nice side-bumpers that looks great on the car. Must be from my old grey one?

Ok, its a prototype. So Im making at as prototype of a 1991 years model, so that means T16S insigna! Luckily, I got a new one laying about.

Looks ok doesnt it? Still missing the 16Valve badge, will be fitted tomorrow. Just have to find one...

So what do you think guys? Tomorrow I will be jumping into the engine bay and do some massive, but fast, service! It will be ready for the Trollhättan "Saabdays" on Friday and the weekend. Im expecting it to be a hit with the crowd!
Razz

Well, I didnt mean to post the registration.... Rolling Eyes Removed it again.

But the registration is standard Aero for a Swedish registered Aero. If the words AERO dont show in the offical registrations its not an Aero!

I have to be honest and confess I havent checked up hte registration date myself... September 1989? Thanks for that Cyber! Explains why the original APC box (black) was manufactured late 1988, it puzzled me a bit. So the car is actually coming up on its 20th birthday? Wow! Razz
