A, a, my friend... Wink
I own a couple of 99 turbo. They are very sporty and more "untaimed" than the 900 turbos (like teenagers).
Of course our 900 turbos are more comfortable and more beautiful than the 99 turbo, but like Bulldogs, you can´t stop loving them.
Very Happy

Lovely car! I saw one of these in Swedish ski-resort "funasdalen" this summer, in very good condition and the "turboS" insigna in the back indicating water-injection. Very nice indeed! It was cruising around and I tried to meet up with my TurboS 1992, but didnt find him again.... Not many of these around in Sweden anymore.....

It's a SAAB ... and of course, I love it Wink I don't think I'd like to own one though ... I am Classic 900 guy through and through.

When you line up the 96 and the C900, you kind of wonder how they got from there to here ... place the 99 in between and you can see the evolution.

We´re guessing that all in all, 1977 to 1981 in nearly good conditioning, there are approximately 30-50 vehicle running in Sweden. In 2006 there were 559 pcs left, most of them in really bad shape. Some of them are just the ID-number and no car. The rust work bad at them... Crying or Very sad
Some of them have made their way to Netherland the last years.
Last week a 1978 were sold in boxes to a Dutch, really nice car that one...

Sad to say that today in Sweden the B-engine 900 (1979 - 1981) are more rare than the 99 turbo Crying or Very sad

The earlier SAAB had a form like a wing of an aeroplane, but it was with the turbo they started to "fly". Very Happy

I love the 99 Turbo, would really like to have one. Favorite is green 99T -79 and then comes a blue 99T -80, last the 99cc, i prefer the sedan!

That´s fine if you want to buy one, beacuse "acasiagreen" and "marmorwhite" was the most common. They produced theese colours both 79 and 80. In 1980 they made "carminred", "aquamarinblue", "cinnabarred and "jetblack", but the green and white was most common even that year. I like the earlier 79 best beacuse they had the small bumpers. They change that to the bigger one at the late 79 just before modelchange 80.
But some people says that the bigger bumps made them look more potent and "fat".

Nice to know... they made 1 aquamarineblue 99 turbo cc in 1978 to the swedish prince Bertil. He allways wanted blue cars. That car is in restoration and lives in the south of Sweden.

Wow! Do you have any pictures with it ?? I didnt know about the bumper change, or atleast never thought about it so i need to check that too. I always wanted to restore a 99T but in the end i chosen the 900Aero because its easier to find good parts (i have a project thread here) .. But who knows, maybe i find a good 99T one day.
